The noisy miners nest regularly in our garden, and this is in our mandarin tree, in the late autumn 2013. In 14 days from nesting to fledged, these photos show how accepting they were of our presence. The parents dive-bombed us when we were taking the photos, but we were able to get in touching distance of them, and in fact when one fledgling fell out of the nest, Ron was able to pick it up and put it back in the nest. The nest was completely unprotected, and when the parents were off seeking food, the babies were left huddled together, and despite our having butcher birds and magpies in the garden at the same time they were not attacked.
