Aland is an autonomous demilitarised island province, situated in the Baltic Sea between Sweden and Finland.
Swedish speaking Aland has a population of 26,000 and a unique archipelago consisting of more than 6,500 islands and skerries.
The Aland Post became an independent postal administration in 1993 and is today subordinate to the Government of Aland ("landskapsstyrelsen".)
